Atco unidentified-object report — February 7, 1984

At about 4 a.m. on February 7, 1984, an unnamed man in Atco, New Jersey, reportedly woke to loud humming and a bright light illuminating his room. He went to the window and saw a brilliant white circular object with a hump or dome, stationary above his neighbor's yard. The main catalogue account estimates a distance of 200 feet and a size comparable with a small car. The object appeared to hover approximately four feet above the ground. For a brief period the observer saw what he described as an image resembling a man beside it. That image disappeared. The object then reportedly ascended in a zigzag movement and departed rapidly. The surviving description does not establish whether the image was solid, a shadow or another light effect. Robert Gribble's hotline reporting is the cited source, appearing in International UFO Reporter 9/2, March–April 1984, page 7, and other compilations. A later merged catalogue description instead gives 300 feet and about twelve seconds, illustrating the uncertainty of these estimates. No retrieved photograph, physical trace or detailed occupant anatomy resolves the account. The plate therefore keeps the figure indistinct, places the witness indoors and shows only the reported low-hovering white object, without inventing alien eyes, clothing or a conversation.
