Park Rapids entity encounter — October 24, 1984

Bill McNeff’s investigation, published in the August 1986 MUFON UFO Journal, describes a farmwife near Park Rapids who reported an encounter in late October 1984. The catalogue uses October 24, but she recalled approximately October 27, with uncertainty of a week. She and her seventeen-year-old stepson were outside after tending their hogs when two diamond-shaped, bluish-white objects moved slowly above distant trees. The stepson went indoors before she obtained a close view of something moving in the hog lot. She described a figure approximately four feet tall approaching to within twenty to twenty-five feet across the fence. It had a large head and eyes, a short nose and neck, slender limbs, and hands reaching toward its knees. Its mouth seemed to form a smile; colour and clothing remained uncertain under the yard light. After several minutes the figure turned and disappeared into the darkness. She did not see it board anything, and could not recall what the distant objects did afterward. She reported no communication and no unusual animal reaction. McNeff and CUFOS investigator Don Flickinger interviewed the family in April 1985. The published account supports a sequential sighting, not a witnessed landing or departure with an occupant.
