Case description
Two men, identified by investigator Francis Ridge with the pseudonyms John and Carl, reported an encounter while searching for artifacts in the Wabash River bottoms near Savah, Indiana, on November 17, 1984. Ridge's longer account places it in daylight, despite an evening time in the catalogue digest.
John described a shiny disc approaching from the river. Both men reported a pulsating buzzing sound, static-like sensations, and difficulty moving. They said that an overhead presence cast a shadow even when they could not see its source. Their estimates of missing time differed substantially.
Ridge first received a telephone report on October 16, 1985, at 8:45 p.m.; this is the call time, not a secure encounter time. Follow-up forms, interviews, and later hypnosis did not produce a clear onboard sequence. The daylight illustration follows the longer investigator account, and the differing chronology remains documented in the linked source.
