Case description
During the early hours of August 8, 1993, Kelly Cahill and her husband were driving through the Dandenong foothills near Narre Warren, southeast of Melbourne. Cahill reported an unusual object with a row of orange-colored lights or windows near the road. She initially tried to fit it to an ordinary explanation before the sequence became much stranger.
She described leaving the car near a field and seeing very tall, dark figures with conspicuous red eyes. Other travelers in a second vehicle were associated with the same episode. Her memories included intense fear and an interruption in the sequence she could consciously recall, followed by being back in the car and continuing the journey.
In the following period Cahill reported physical marks and returning fragments of memory. She contacted researcher Bill Chalker on October 4, 1993, and the case was passed to investigators in Victoria. Cahill described the memories as returning gradually without hypnosis. Investigators subsequently examined the reported experiences of people associated with both vehicles.
