Case description
Around 4:30 a.m. on July 24, 1994, Grace Kyriakidis was driving Tina Chatzibasile, Joy Bock and Victoria McGinley home northwest of Melbourne. Keith Basterfield’s catalogue places the encounter about sixty kilometres from the city. The women reportedly saw glowing orange oblong lights alongside the road, followed by a much larger orange light close behind the car.
After stopping and getting out, they described a low diamond-shaped object with apparent markings near its tail and a steady droning sound. It moved sideways and vanished behind trees. They resumed driving, briefly entered a driveway and left after seeing a shadowy human figure. A bright orange light allegedly followed them again before disappearing. The figure was observed during a later phase; its relationship to the object was not demonstrated, and no dependable nonhuman anatomy was supplied.
On reaching Grace’s home, the women believed approximately seventy-five minutes were unaccounted for. They later reported headaches, nosebleeds, static-electricity effects and memory lapses. These are reported associations, not medically established consequences of the lights. Basterfield cites Woman’s Day of December 26, 1994, and distinguishes this case from the 1993 Kelly Cahill episode and another retrospective four-person Victorian account. Those other stories should not supply missing beings or onboard scenes. The illustration combines labelled phases while retaining the original four-woman witness group.
