Case description
The Szeged entry belongs to the history of apparition and poltergeist reports. Later UFO catalogues describe globular lights and a lady in white in the Hungarian town during 1836. The fuller account summarized by Jacques Vallée and Chris Aubeck in Wonders in the Sky associates the phenomena with a reportedly haunted house, rather than describing a landed spacecraft.
That account mentions a white female apparition, a dwarf Franciscan monk and objects apparently thrown by unseen hands. Its source trail leads to a letter from Dr. V. Stantsky to Justinus Kerner, printed in Magikon in 1846, and a later discussion by William Howitt. The modern chronology supplies July 1, 1836; the Atlas ledger preserves only the year. This publication history separates the reported event from the dates on which later writers recorded and classified it.
The available earlier summary gives no structured vehicle, physical extraterrestrial occupants or abduction sequence. Later online embellishments should not turn globular lights into a mechanically described craft or make the apparitions its proven crew. The plate accordingly reconstructs a period household watching indistinct apparitional forms and lights. The residents and building are contextual, and the scene remains explicitly labelled as an historical apparition account with no craft described.
