Case description
The imported Loxley, South Yorkshire, entry assigns January31,1920 to a white figure reportedly crossing a field toward old mine workings. Hatch cites Paul Devereux’s Earth Lights Revelation and also mentions January1985 and poltergeist reports. The original passage was not recovered, so the exact1920 date, observer identities and relationship among these episodes remain unverified.
A separately recovered1985 summary, also attributed to Devereux, describes two women on horseback at Loxley Edge at night. They reportedly encountered a luminous white human-shaped figure on their path; the horses were disturbed and the appearance ended abruptly. That account supplies the human participants missing from the brief1920 entry, but it does not prove that the earlier and later figures were identical or that either involved extraterrestrials.
The plate is explicitly labelled as the1985 follow-up account and shows the two riders with a featureless white form. It does not present them as witnesses in1920. Personal appearance, landscape and luminosity are illustrative. No craft, occupants arriving from a vehicle, facial anatomy or physical mechanism is described in either recovered summary. Local ghost traditions and later UFO interpretations should remain separate from evidence establishing what the witnesses actually perceived.
