Case description
The surviving Hatch import leaves the year blank, but Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos’s Catalogue of 200 Type-I UFO Events in Spain and Portugal assigns this unusual La Mancha account approximately to 1925. The catalogue explicitly marks both year and locality as imprecise. La Mancha is associated with Toledo, rather than a securely identified village or road. Hatch additionally gives midday, without a recovered contemporary time record.
An unnamed man reportedly encountered a short figure, about 1.2 metres tall, wearing a greenish uniform. Its arms and legs appeared rigid. It held an object compared with a blowpipe. The stranger was standing on a disc-shaped object positioned vertically and rolling along, an unusual arrangement that should not be redrawn as a conventional horizontally hovering saucer. The reported observation distance was only about two metres. No words were exchanged.
Ballester Olmos identifies the source as a firsthand anonymous letter sent to Antonio Ribera, held in the Ballester Olmos files. The accessible entry does not provide the letter itself, a named witness, a contemporary newspaper account, duration or departure sequence. The close-range details are therefore attributed to that retrospective letter, not to an authenticated 1925 investigation. The device’s material, propulsion and the figure’s face remain unknown.
