Case description
Harry Dillon's retrospective account places him on an unpaved country road near Yakima, Washington, in late April 1928, at about 4 p.m. As he reached the top of a slight rise, an unusual metallic object slowly came into view. He described a hexagonal body with a dome above it, coloured olive drab rather than brightly polished silver.
The reported construction included rivets along a vertical section and a rectangular window, approximately two by three feet, set in a metal frame. Through the window Dillon said he could see a man's upper torso. The occupant had a dark complexion, entirely humanlike features and a dark blue uniform. He appeared to look intently toward Dillon's car. The object then rotated, crossed the road and accelerated away at extraordinary speed.
The available compilation attributes this account to Jacques Vallée's Confrontations; it does not provide a contemporary 1928 newspaper report or establish when Dillon first recorded the experience. Claims that such a description proves an otherworldly origin go beyond the reported observation. No car failure or interaction with the occupant is established in the checked narrative. The reconstruction retains the unusually specific hexagonal outline, rivets and uniformed human appearance, while treating the car, portrait and landscape as artistic context.
