Pavlodar, Kazakh being encounter — 1936

Vladimir Rubtsov recorded E.E.Loznaya’s recollection of an encounter during winter1936 at the Oktyabrskiy state farm in Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar region. His account appeared in Tekhnika-Molodezhi10/1976 and was translated in Flying Saucer Review24(4),page13. Loznaya said she was fifteen and walking to school along a lonely snowy road before sunrise. The published source is a recollection recorded decades after the event. A dark shape approached across her direction of travel and appeared to be an upright, humanlike figure entirely covered in black. She described helmet-like headgear,heavy arms held close,a pack and no visible hands,feet or facial features. It turned toward her;an increasing rumble accompanied its approach to roughly forty metres. When she looked for shelter and turned back,the figure was gone. She considered that it might have changed direction or dropped behind a snowdrift,and ran home. She estimated the event lasted about a minute and said she had never seen anything similar before or since. No separate aircraft,wings,exhaust or landing is reported. The plate keeps the schoolgirl and complete airborne form together,with illustrative clothing and pack construction. It depicts the reported appearance without identifying propulsion or establishing extraterrestrial origin.
