Case description
A Spanish army lieutenant and his assistant reportedly encountered an extraordinary object on the Guadalajara front on July 25, 1938. Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos’s fuller account credits Oscar Rey Brea with obtaining the story through later conversations. The officer’s name was withheld, and the exact location was not established. The witnesses were descending a gully between eleven and midnight when a powerful white light dazzled them.
As it faded, they described a dark, lenticular object roughly ten to twelve metres wide and five high, hovering about two metres above the ground some sixty metres away. A column lowered a platform on which two moving forms appeared. Darkness prevented a clear view of anatomy or clothing.
A bluish circle of light moved across the ground towards them. They felt cold, but could not decide whether this came from the light or their fear. The platform then rose. Coloured sparks appeared around the craft’s darker middle section; the halves seemed briefly to rotate in opposite directions before a white glow concealed it and it ascended rapidly.
The report does not identify “Greys” or establish a weapon’s physiological effect. Its retrospective, anonymous provenance and uncertain site remain important limits.
