Case description
The account is placed in 1948 between Garganta la Olla and Yuste Monastery in Cáceres, Spain. A flock owner reportedly sheltered overnight in a cabin because of a severe storm. As he prepared to light a fire, he heard voices outside. Assuming someone had become lost, he opened the door and invited a short man to come in.
The visitor entered silently. The shepherd then noticed that his feet resembled those of a goat. He screamed in fright, causing the stranger to run away. Afterward, he saw a nearby fireball rise into the sky. According to the later account, he interpreted the visitor as the Devil and became strongly religious following the experience.
Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos included the story as case 7 in his 1976 Iberian catalogue, citing David G. López's files. That summary supplies a year but no exact date, witness name, anatomy beyond the feet or defined craft. The imported 11 p.m. time is therefore not sufficient to manufacture a precise chronology. A fireball after a fleeing figure does not establish a witnessed boarding or extraterrestrial vehicle. The reconstruction labels its combination of the two moments and avoids adding horns, wings or other conventional devil imagery that the source never describes.
