Case description
A man identified only by the initials C.A.V. described an encounter on the coastal road between Pucusana and Lima, Peru. Sources differ over the year: Thomas Bullard records 1949 with 1952 as an alternative, while another catalogue places it in February 1952.
C.A.V. said he noticed a shining disc near sand dunes and stopped to approach it. As he came closer, three unusual figures emerged. He compared their appearance with mummies and described their legs as joined or held together, ending in a single broad support. Their faces reportedly had an oblong, gelatinous-looking feature that he interpreted as an eye.
The figures first spoke English and then Spanish, asking about their location and discussing other matters. C.A.V. said that he accepted an invitation aboard and took a short flight. The interior was described as unusually lacking in visible structural features, but the surviving summary gives few details of the route or return.
Investigator Richard Greenwell interviewed him in 1967, and the account was also repeated during hypnosis. The conflicting years remain explicit rather than being assigned a newly certain date. The reported conversation and accepted invitation are distinct from an account of forcible seizure.
