Case description
Pat Dillon, seven, and his brother Clyde Dillon Jr., nine, reportedly saw a low-flying object over their Kennewick, Washington, home on August 28, 1952, around 10 a.m. Loren Gross’s historical compilation reproduces the Tri-City Herald account of August 29. Their mother, Mrs Clyde Dillon, said she questioned the boys separately immediately afterward and believed their descriptions agreed.
The boys described a round, silver object approximately the size of the family kitchen, perhaps larger. A fence or walkway railing appeared to run around it. They said a man stood on that walkway, leaned against the railing and looked down as the object passed rapidly overhead toward the southeast. The published altitude estimate was about one hundred feet, alongside the article’s description of a treetop-level pass.
Mrs Dillon heard a jetlike sound but came outside after the object had gone; she therefore corroborated a noise, not the alleged occupant’s appearance. The account supplies no secure clothing, facial anatomy, photograph or physical trace. Her confidence and the matching stories do not alone establish the object’s origin. The plate shows two representative young brothers, a whole silver disc with an exterior railing and an indistinct ordinary humanlike figure. It avoids making their mother an additional visual witness.
