Case description
The September 22, 1952, Yaak story is a second-hand military rumour rather than a documented interview with named landing witnesses. Rex McCracken wrote about it in Flying Saucers in 1962, saying that personnel from the nearby 680th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron had told residents of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, what happened ten years earlier.
According to that story, an unidentified object landed near the Montana radar site and broke small trees. Roughly two dozen officers and airmen approached it, but it repeatedly moved or hopped before flying away. An officer was said to have noticed movement inside. McCracken also relayed talk of a subsequent senior-officer meeting, tighter security and instructions against discussing the event.
Loren Gross's historical compilation preserves the letter while noting that the declassified Blue Book record does not contain this landing. Yaak also had other radar and visual reports; their official documentation should not be transferred to this separate claim. The account does not establish an occupant's appearance, a recovered craft or named primary observers. The illustration is visibly labelled as a later-reported rumour and keeps the supposed object indistinct, with no invented alien figure.
