Case description
Nello Ferrari’s Castelfranco Emilia report is usually dated November 16, 1952, around 9:30 a.m. The farmer, approximately forty, said he was outside his barn near Modena when a copper-coloured glow drew his attention. Italian catalogue research distinguishes this press account from Harold Wilkins’s later version, which gives November 30 and different dimensions. The Atlas also contains that variant under a separate imported identifier.
Ferrari described two opposed circular sections connected by a central metal cylinder. In the Italian comparison the machine was estimated at about five metres across, with the cylinder projecting above and below. Parts appeared to rotate while a buzzing sound increased. Ordinary-sized humanlike men were visible at openings, wearing rubberlike outfits and transparent coverings over their eyes. They spoke unintelligible words, withdrew, and the machine departed after metallic clicks and a louder buzz.
Accounts disagree over the openings, the number and position of the men, and the mechanism. Renzo Cabassi attempted a later inquiry after Ferrari had died; the original press material therefore remains central, rather than a fresh interview with the observer. The plate follows the Italian mechanical description with three approximate figures, identifying a reconstruction rather than recovered photographic evidence. Neither this version nor Wilkins’s establishes a verified alien identity.
