Case description
Salvador Villanueva Medina, a Mexican taxi driver, placed his encounter near Ciudad Valles in August 1953. He said his car broke down while carrying two American passengers along the Mexico City–Laredo route. After the passengers left, a short, apparently human man approached; a second similarly dressed visitor later joined him. Villanueva described pale complexions, blond hair, ordinary green eyes, seamless grey clothing, perforated metallic belts, collars and small boxes on their backs.
The men reportedly spoke Spanish and sheltered with him during rain. At daybreak he followed them across wet ground to a clearing containing a disc-shaped vehicle. Versions describe their belts keeping mud away and an invitation to enter the craft. Short catalogues often end with his refusal and the vehicle’s departure. His published book instead claimed a five-day journey to Venus, with extensive descriptions of life there. Those substantially different endings should not be merged into a single uncontested landing account.
The story became public in the mid-1950s contactee milieu, rather than through a located contemporary 1953 investigation. Its exact August date varies. The book’s habitable Venus narrative conflicts with established planetary conditions, and later explanations invoked an imposed or mental experience. The Atlas record preserves a disputed contactee claim; it does not establish a Venus voyage, independently verified visitors, or authenticated physical traces.
