Case description
This entry represents the second encounter in Rubem Hellwig’s Santa Maria narrative, said to occur the morning after his meeting with two grass-collecting men. The imported ledger assigns March 16, 1954, and about 10 a.m.; the fuller account establishes March and a following-day sequence more securely than an independently documented date.
Hellwig reportedly found the same or a similar small, football-shaped vehicle near the road, this time occupied by a different crew. He described a tall, fair-complexioned man and two women with light-brown skin, long black hair and dark slanted eyes. All wore brown, suede-like one-piece garments with zipper closures and could, he said, have passed as ordinary people. They presented themselves as scientists studying Brazil’s natural resources and expressed surprise that he did not flee.
A longer contactee version includes an invitation to inspect the transparent-fronted craft, a supposedly musical language combined with telepathy, and claims about a distant planet called Arion. These are parts of Hellwig’s story, not verified statements about another civilization. The account became public in 1965, roughly eleven years after the alleged encounters, without an independent crew witness or physical evidence in the consulted sources. Its distinct trio should not be combined with the previous day’s two men.
