Case description
A farmer living about half a mile south of Harptree, Saskatchewan, reportedly heard a droning sound while pumping water in his yard one morning in June 1954. A circular object was moving between his house and a shed, travelling generally from north to south at low altitude. The retrospective account gives approximately 10 a.m.
The object appeared to be made of translucent metal or plastic, with two figures visible through a window. They wore bright-looking suits and darker helmets. Between them the farmer noticed something he compared with an automobile gear lever. The craft passed at an estimated twenty feet above the ground; its diameter was variously given as about fifty feet or seventeen metres. Its passage allegedly disturbed loose material beneath it, as though a strong vacuum or whirlwind had crossed the yard.
Dean Clausen’s investigation is the source cited by Saucers, Space and Science, DATA-NET and John Musgrave’s later Canadian occupant catalogue. The dimensions and speed are witness estimates, and translucence should not be expanded into a fully invisible vehicle. The surviving description does not resolve the figures’ faces, identify their origin, or establish a landing or conversation with the farmer.
