Case description
Franco Premi reportedly encountered an unusual object while waiting for a customer in the countryside near Torre de' Picenardi in June 1954. Around 2:30 p.m., his dog's agitation interrupted his reading. A loud whistling sound followed, and he said he saw a craft descend into a maize field. Its grey body resembled a teardrop with a small tail, a curved underside, bulging upper section and transparent front.
Premi estimated the object at roughly ten metres long, seven wide and three high. After the whistling stopped and the dog calmed, he left his car and watched from bushes. Two human-shaped figures, about two metres tall, allegedly emerged beneath the craft. They wore stiff azure-blue suits and large dark eye coverings extending around their heads. Their movement appeared awkward. They collected vegetation into containers, briefly inspected the object and returned inside.
The craft reportedly departed rapidly with another intense whistle, leaving a strong ozone-like smell. These details survive through Italian ufological retellings; no independently authenticated vegetation sample or contemporary measurement was recovered. The ledger's tripod description is retained as a catalogue detail, while the fuller account principally establishes the teardrop shape and transparent front. The plate follows the unusual blue clothing and wraparound eye coverings rather than substituting generic Grey occupants.
