Case description
On August 20, 1954, sisters Edith Jacobsen and Asta Solvang reported an encounter while picking berries in the hills near Mosjøen, Norway. They described a friendly, ordinary human-looking man with a tanned complexion, long brown hair and close-fitting or aviator-like clothing with a broad belt. They could not understand his melodic speech.
According to their account, he made gestures and drew circles that they interpreted as a planetary diagram. He then led them to a clearing containing a small grey-blue, domed disc. They said he prevented them from approaching too closely, entered through a hatch and departed with a whistling sound and rotating motion. Their uncle had been berry-picking nearby but was not reported as witnessing this meeting.
Police inspected the location without finding decisive landing evidence. Contemporary newspapers circulated an explanation involving American helicopter pilot Bailey Faurot; subsequent coverage also reported his denial of landing at the sisters' location and their continued insistence on the story. That conflicting press trail should not become either a settled alien visit or an unquestioned confession of deception. The plate reconstructs the sisters' claimed scene with a humanlike visitor and disc, explicitly labelled as a disputed historical report.
