Case description
Two women independently reported an unusual object near Bécar, outside Diges, on the morning of September 24, 1954. Widow Geoffroy was heading toward a washhouse when she saw a dull, dark grey-brown shape in a woodland clearing, with a normal-sized man beside it. She watched from roughly one hundred meters and withdrew in fear.
Gisèle Fin was tending goats on another side of the wood when her dogs barked. Approaching to around thirty meters, she saw a low, elongated object, approximately five or six meters long, resting on runners. A man in dark clothing and a cap or head covering appeared to be working beside it. She led the goats toward a safer viewpoint, lost sight of the clearing for several minutes, and found the object gone when she looked again.
Reports described narrow marks in dew or flattened grass, without a documented takeoff. Early investigator Charles Garreau later interpreted the object and man as a Bell helicopter and its crew. That explanation differs from press depictions of a saucer repair but fits the explicitly human appearance of the visitor. Source variations in size and shape should remain visible rather than being consolidated into a uniquely engineered alien craft.
