Case description
Les Nouvelles de Redon reported on 6 October 1954 that Henri Le Hérissé, a 23-year-old farmer at Mégrit, saw an unusual object at about 11:30 p.m. on the preceding Saturday, 2 October. Leaving home to check his horses, he noticed a luminous oval between a shed and haystack, to the southwest. He estimated its greatest dimension at approximately two metres and its initial height at about 50 metres.
After watching for about two minutes, he thought he could distinguish one dark, humanlike shape, roughly 80 centimetres tall, inside. He went indoors and told his bedridden wife, then intended to alert his neighbor, Le Texier. Looking out again, he said the object had descended to approximately four metres above the ground. This time he saw two humanlike figures standing motionless inside. Frightened, he barricaded himself indoors and extinguished the lights; he did not see what happened afterward.
Later books change the date to 4 October, the time, dimensions and movement, sometimes adding a rapid departure or a landed craft. Those details should not override the closer contemporary account, in which no departure was witnessed. The reconstruction follows its second view: a small hovering oval with two internal shapes, without invented external occupants or landing gear.
