Case description
An anonymous woman returning by bicycle reportedly saw an unusual light in a field near Cozes, Charente-Maritime, around 11:30 p.m. on October 6, 1954. The source chain points to Sud-Ouest of October 12. Later historical checking indicates that the newspaper material was a reader’s account rather than a documented field investigation.
She described orange and green illumination from an object shaped like a turtle shell with a dome. Two small figures allegedly appeared beside it, one using a rod as though searching the ground. Under a stronger, violet light, their faces were said to show a single central eye and no projecting nose, only small holes above the mouth. HUMCAT’s version places these faces behind helmet faceplates. Frightened, she cried out before the scene disappeared with a faint hum.
The witness’s identity and independent corroboration remain absent from the consulted accounts. This is therefore preserved as an unverified reader report. The plate includes woman, bicycle, two single-eyed figures and domed turtle-shaped craft, with suit colour, precise faces and mechanical fittings treated as artistic reconstruction.
