Case description
Henri Gallois and Louis Vigneron were driving toward Corbigny through the Sassier area of Nièvre, France, before dawn on October 11, 1954. They reportedly felt an electric-shock-like sensation as their vehicle's engine and headlights failed. In a nearby pasture they saw an unfamiliar object and three small figures.
The object was described in several accounts as thick and cylindrical, with a small reddish light. The men said they were unable to move while the figures were outside. After the figures entered and the object departed, the lights returned and the vehicle could be started. A separate observer was said to have seen a luminous object over nearby woods.
The HUMCAT entry gives 4:50 a.m., while other catalogues use 4:30 a.m. The source chain includes contemporary French newspapers, Aimé Michel, and later vehicle-interference studies. These reports do not establish a measured electromagnetic mechanism. The illustration depicts the stopped-car observation without adding sparks, electrical bolts, or a detailed occupant anatomy absent from the original summaries.
