Mamora-Forest, Maroc being encounter — October 12, 1954

A short report circulating in the Moroccan and French press in October 1954 concerned an engineer from Meknès driving toward Port-Lyautey, now Kenitra, through the Mamora forest. According to Combat’s October 16 account, a small man about 1.2 metres tall, wearing a shiny suit, stopped the motorist. The figure then walked toward an object standing beside the road on the right, entered it, and the object departed rapidly. The available contemporary notice supplies little detail about either the engineer or the alleged visitor. It does not describe an alien face, conversation, instruments, or an examination of the site. Later catalogue descriptions of a saucer should therefore be distinguished from the newspaper’s much simpler account of a craft and a short, suited figure. The date is also uncertain. The imported catalogue places the encounter on October 12, while an October 16 newspaper version locates the Moroccan incident on Thursday afternoon, which would mean October 14. The plate consequently uses October 1954. This is a reported roadside encounter preserved through press notices, rather than a documented identification of an extraterrestrial occupant.
