Case description
At about 6:30 a.m. on October 14, 1954, a man leaving his house at Shamsabad reportedly noticed a bright, star-like object roughly 100 metres away. The newspaper account translated by Gordon Creighton in Flying Saucer Review identifies Shamsabad near Tehran, Iran. This conflicts with the imported Atlas location in India.
As the man approached, the light resolved into an object estimated at five metres long. A short, young-looking man stood on a circular metal section in its centre, looking around. From about twenty metres, the witness believed the figure was laughing at his frightened expression. The machine then rose abruptly and disappeared at what he described as extraordinary speed.
The report is attributed to a visitor to the Tehran newspaper Ettela’at’s offices on October 15, describing the previous morning. Later catalogues preserve the same brief sequence. They do not supply the observer’s name, a detailed costume, facial anatomy or a witnessed conversation. The “Grey” terminology in the imported abstract is therefore unsupported by the recovered description of a short young man. The illustration keeps that humanlike appearance and circular platform without inventing a particular alien species.
