Case description
A much later account places a twenty-three-year-old woman, anonymised as Marie C., at Gâvres, Morbihan, around 6 p.m. on 20 October 1954. While closing her shutters, she reportedly noticed an orange-red light above the nearby road. A narrow, strong beam extended vertically to the roadway, and five small humanoid forms appeared at its lower end.
The figures entered her home and moved one behind another, circling her three times. She described heights of approximately one to 1.2 metres, dense russet body hair and exposed heads with piglike noses. When she cried out, they returned toward the beam and vanished. A high whistle accompanied their departure; a bottle she was holding allegedly broke cleanly at the neck. Her husband, shopping nearby, heard her but arrived after the figures had gone.
The account also attributes subsequent hospitalisation, pregnancy loss and later health difficulties to the aftermath. Those are reported claims. No medical records were recovered here to establish a cause. Patrick Gross traces the narrative to Gérard Champetier’s investigation published in Lumières dans la Nuit 227–228, decades after the assigned event. The husband’s reported response supports distress within the story, not independent observation of the beings. No detailed vehicle structure was described.
