Case description
Reports from Les Jonquerets-de-Livet in October 1954 describe lights in a meadow, a motorcycle difficulty and two unusual forms near a farm. Contemporary newspaper accounts name farmer Gilbert Hée or Haye and the younger men Jean Chéradame and René Marais. Dates vary between October 25 and 27; a later reinvestigation favored the 25th using a family event as a chronological reference.
Paris-Normandie described the farmer seeing an elongated dark body joining red and green lights while gathering pears. Later that evening Chéradame’s motorcycle reportedly failed, and the men saw two short, shining figures moving awkwardly near the property. Lights subsequently rose from the meadow. The paper’s ages and figure height differ from later catalogues. A HUMCAT correction based on reinvestigation separates the farmer’s observation from the humanoid episode and describes approximately 1.6-meter featureless, internally luminous forms without visible limbs, gliding from and back into a light source.
The motorcycle’s role is also disputed: one later interview attributed no causal connection between its trouble and the lights. Skeptical explanations and rebuttals were published, but they did not produce a consistent description across sources. The Atlas retains this historical entry without treating bright armor, small grey occupants or electromagnetic interference as settled facts. The plate labels its combination of the elongated object and later luminous-form description as a contextual composite.
