Case description
Benabbio, in the municipality of Bagni di Lucca, Tuscany, appears in Italian catalogues for October 25, 1954. The Centro Ufologico Nazionale’s regional listing places it in Lucca province and briefly records a disc from which two individuals emerged. Some English-language compilations incorrectly relocate Benabbio to Liguria; the Italian regional attribution is the appropriate geographic reference.
The fuller catalogue tradition assigns approximately 8 p.m. and describes a reddish disc with a luminous streak behind it. It reportedly came down near an observer, after which two humanlike figures appeared briefly and returned inside before the object departed rapidly. The recovered Italian listing independently preserves only the disc and two individuals, so the colour, time and sequence remain details transmitted by later compilations rather than a newly inspected original witness statement.
No reliably retrieved description establishes the individuals’ faces, clothing, height or conversation. The original newspaper account attributed in the catalogue chain to Il Nuovo Corriere was not recovered during this review. The illustration accordingly includes one representative observer, two unresolved humanlike forms and a reddish disc in a Tuscan setting, without adding distinctive alien anatomy, an interior or physical traces. Its visual detail should be read as an illustration of the reported outline, not authentication of the encounter.
