Giulianova, ITL being encounter — November 2, 1954

Anna Spiadacci and Adele Orsini reportedly encountered a small suited figure while returning from a cinema in Giulianova, Abruzzo, on 2 November 1954, around 22:30. Later summaries give their ages as 52 and 37. The CUFOS HUMCAT card cites F. Izzo's Italian close-encounter catalogue and Il Corriere della Sera of 4 November 1954, providing a near-contemporary newspaper trail even though the full original article has not been recovered here. The figure was estimated at approximately one metre tall and appeared to wear a grey diving-type suit with a soft leather helmet. Blue light from its faceplate obscured facial details. Its movements were described as jerky, and the women attributed an incomprehensible phrase to it; versions of those syllables differ between retellings and do not establish a translated message. The encounter reportedly ended when the figure vanished in a white cloud. No craft, landing equipment or arrival vehicle is described in this account. The suit and faceplate are reported appearances, not proof that the figure was an astronaut or extraterrestrial. HUMCAT places a separate Cremona report nearby, including a later hoax admission; that finding must not be transferred to Giulianova.
