Case description
The Orinoco-delta entry is associated in fuller catalogues with Fernando de Moya, a thirty-nine-year-old man reportedly hunting from a launch in the Amacuro delta region. The observation is usually placed at night, on or before about 4 November 1954, rather than on a securely established exact date. De Moya allegedly noticed a luminous sphere hovering roughly six feet above the ground.
The HUMCAT account says his two Indigenous companions fled while he approached. He reported two figures about three feet tall, with round heads and large eyes, moving back and forth to the sphere in little jumps and picking up objects. They entered through one of two window-like openings. Once they noticed de Moya, they returned to the sphere, which rose vertically. This differs from the Atlas’s compact count of three or four small beings.
HUMCAT cites the November 1954 APRO Bulletin; later chronologies also reference Leonard Stringfield’s book. The available retellings do not reproduce an original witness statement or identify the collected material. The two-count and approximate-date versions are therefore retained openly. The plate follows that fuller sequence and includes the sphere and principal observer, without adding samples, detailed equipment or costumes from unrelated South American encounters.
