Official source account — 2023 annual report, printed page 150: Marcos Cordero noticed a dark point only when reviewing a landscape photograph from Capilla del Monte. CIAE examined two broad, bent wing-like surfaces and a white point in the central concavity. Comparison with a condor photograph suggested that the white feature could be the neck collar of a male Andean condor. The official report considered a distant male Vultur gryphus compatible with the image. It retained the uncertainty of a brief photographic occurrence rather than claiming the individual bird had been independently identified. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
