Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 161: Santiago Arévalo recorded a luminous phenomenon during an astronomical photography session at Villa La Angostura. CIAE compared the stellar background and calculated trajectory with a Chinese Long March launch carrying Gaofen 14. It attributed the illuminated gas clouds to stage separation, residual propellant venting and related rocket operations about fifty minutes after launch. The agency classified the rocket identification Type A.
The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
