Alejandro Vega takeoff photographs

Official source account — 2019 annual report, printed page 12: Alejandro Vega photographed an aircraft taking off toward him at Bariloche on 13 January 2019 and found apparent objects near it in successive images. CIAE checked the symmetry between the aircraft's lights, the apparent lights and the camera's optical center. It concluded that all the frames were compatible with lens flare, even as the aircraft and camera geometry changed. The agency assigned a Type A explanation. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
