Official source account — 2017 annual report, printed page 38: A photograph dated 16 September 2017 from the Entre Ríos shore opposite Salto, Uruguay, showed a bright apparent object. CEFAE applied optical geometry and concluded that the anomaly was compatible with internal lens flare. The report places the observer on the Argentine shore; Salto is the opposite-bank reference, rather than the case's country.
