Sergio Safían — Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires

Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 101: Sergio Safían photographed the Moon and discovered an unfamiliar object to its left only after downloading the image. CIAE compared the suspect light with a bright streetlight elsewhere in the scene. Their arrangement satisfied the geometry of an internal lens reflection. The agency concluded that the apparent object above and left of the Moon was a streetlight-generated lens flare and assigned Type A. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
