Fabián Gutiérrez photograph

Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 56: Fabián Gutiérrez noticed an apparent flying object in the upper-left area of a photograph taken at Sarmiento, Chubut, on 17 April 2016. CEFAE interpreted the enlarged shape as an insect entering the camera's field from the left. The agency pointed to the leading edges of its wings and explained that the remaining wing surfaces were barely visible because of transparency and rapid beating. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
