Mar del Plata photograph

Official source account — 2016 annual report, printed page 4: A Mar del Plata witness discovered a bright object below the Moon while reviewing a photograph dated 15 December 2015. CEFAE applied optical geometry, joining the apparent object to the suspected light source and checking its relation to the image center. It concluded that the anomaly was compatible with internal lens flare. The account concerns a photographic artifact identified after capture, with no separate flight behavior described. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
