Venado Tuerto Moon photograph

Official source account — 2017 annual report, printed page 29: While photographing the Moon at Venado Tuerto on 31 December 2009, a witness recorded a strange luminous shape in the second of three images. CEFAE interpreted its bright point, translucent area and repeated angular traces as compatible with a flying firefly. The agency proposed that movement during a one-tenth-second exposure and intermittent light emission created the confusing shape, with camera-related purple fringing contributing to its appearance.
