Luis Alcetegaray — Rauch, Province of Buenos Aires

Official source account — 2022 annual report, printed page 100: Luis Alcetegaray found a luminous point in the sky while reviewing a landscape photograph taken at Rauch, Buenos Aires Province, in December 2017. CIAE connected the point with the Sun in the image and checked the geometry around the camera's optical centre. The two features lay at equal distances on opposite sides of that centre. This verified an internal lens reflection. The report classified the case Type A; the source supplies a month and year rather than an exact observation day. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
