Santa Lucía crossing lights

Official source account — 2018 annual report, printed page 13: At Santa Lucía, San Juan, on 24 March 2018, a witness saw two lights crossing and photographed them. CEFAE used the reported directions, slow motion, proximity and disappearance to reconstruct a crossing between an Ariane 40 rocket body and the Cosmos 2425 spacecraft. The agency concluded that those orbital objects fit the observation. It emphasized the witness's detailed testimony because the cellphone image itself contained only faint stellar reference information. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes.
