City of Bariloche — Province of Rio Negro

Official source account — 2022 annual report, printed page 94: An unexpected spindle-shaped object appeared in a photograph taken at Bariloche on 28 February 2017 and was noticed only after processing. CIAE enlarged the form, whose upper surface was partly sunlit and whose central body had two translucent elliptical projections. These features suggested an insect flying across the camera's view at the instant of exposure. The photographer had seen no unusual object in the scene. The report assigned Type B status because reproduction and independent confirmation of the fleeting crossing were unavailable. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
