Potrerillos vehicle-window lights — Mendoza Province, August 2021

Official source account — 2023 annual report, printed page 109: A man reviewing video from Potrerillos noticed two white points against a dark mountainside. During a left-to-right camera pan, the points appeared to move but maintained fixed positions relative to larger, obvious reflections in the vehicle's window. CIAE considered them compatible with small window reflections from bright elements inside the vehicle. Those interior sources were not visible in the recording, so the agency retained the explanation as compatible rather than fully identifying the objects producing the reflections. The source supplies a month, without a specific observation day. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
