Mar de Ajó photograph

Official source account — 2019 annual report, printed page 28: A Mar de Ajó witness discovered an apparent object in a photograph dated 24 February 2019, while neighboring frames showed none. CIAE considered its shape and the exposure of less than two milliseconds. It proposed a bird caught at an instant with its wings folded, viewed obliquely toward the camera. The agency assigned a Type B explanation, retaining the identification as an inference from the image and shooting circumstances. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
