Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 52: A witness in Banfield watched a luminous point descend slowly toward the southwestern horizon for about an hour and submitted more than eight minutes of video. CIAE simulated the sky and found Canopus in the same low position. No second comparable point appeared in the recording. The agency attributed the colourful scintillation to atmospheric effects and identified the star in a Type A conclusion.
