Román Recagno stationary object — San Miguel, Buenos Aires Province, 1 January 2010

Official source account — 2023 annual report, printed page 52: Román Recagno reported watching an object in the same part of the sky for eight hours at San Miguel and obtained numerous photographs. The images showed a vertically oriented oval form with slight changes of angle while remaining stationary. CIAE investigated a balloon explanation and used IPACO's vertical-thread tool to identify a line below the object. The official report concluded that it was a tethered helium balloon. The visible tether was the principal corroborating detail distinguishing it from an independently hovering aircraft.
