Official source account — 2020 annual report, printed page 74: Gabriel Cogorno filmed an object partly obscured by clouds as it moved from northwest toward west during a thirty-minute observation. CIAE reconstructed the sky at both the beginning and end of the recording. Position, motion and visible shape matched the Moon in its phase that night. The agency concluded that broken cloud layers had altered the Moon's appearance and classified the case Type A. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
