Nelsa Carmodi satellite-flare photograph

Official source account — 2018 annual report, printed page 16: Nelsa Carmodi saw a bright flash near Los Menucos on Provincial Route 23 on 1 April 2018 and captured a thirteen-second photograph. CEFAE matched the event to an Iridium 71 flare using the date, time and location. The agency attributed the uneven beginning of the trail to camera movement, also visible in the background stars, while the later portion recorded the brief sunlight reflection from the satellite. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes.
