Official source account — 2019 annual report, printed page 17: Diego Valerioti photographed a moving light at El Calafate on 11 February 2019 and later discovered an elongated shape in the image; an acquaintance submitted it. CIAE examined the cellphone's one-fifteenth-second exposure and the repeated structure in the mark. Its Type A conclusion interpreted the shape as an insect's motion trail, or rod, produced as the insect crossed close to the lens during the exposure. The summaries distinguish reported observations from the agency’s proposed explanations. Source Type A/B ratings describe explanatory confidence and are not encounter classes. The map uses an approximate GeoNames locality centroid, not the observation point.
